Saturday, Jan. 7, was a day Canucks fans were dreading since the schedule was announced: the team was to face the Boston Bruins.
This would be their first meeting since the loss of Lord Stanley's Cup in Vancouver last June, and the only time they would meet in the regular season. To make matters worse, they were playing in Boston—in a building where they couldn't win during the Stanley Cup final.

Mariners Volleyball Standings

Both the men's and women's volleyball teams are currently sitting in first place in the national standings. In their conference the men's team is ranked first and the women are second. Both teams are working towards the 2012 CCVA Volleyball National Championships, which will take place Mar. 8–12. The men's championship will be in Abbotsford, B.C., hosted by Columbia Bible College. The women's championship will be here in Nanaimo, hosted by Vancouver Island University.
