Hibernation season is over—it’s time to awaken your taste buds with these fun treats just in time for a student’s favourite long weekend (aka the homework hustle): Easter. These Pinterest-worthy nests are made with super simple ingredients, with just the right amount of crunch. You can grab everything you need from Bulk Barn or Wal-Mart. Yields: as much as you want.
Choose any chocolate combination you like, and don’t forget to break the pretzels.
What you’ll need:
- Melt-able Chocolate (dark, milk or white)
- Stick Pretzels, broken
- Your choice of egg-shaped treats
Decorate with whatever you want!
I used a small bowl full of pretzels, with the equivalent in varied chocolate, producing 15 nests. You are allowed to microwave the chocolate, but I prefer the double-boiler method.
Fill a medium sized saucepan with an inch of water, and bring to a slow, quiet boil. Place a stainless-steel bowl on top, adding a small amount of the chocolate. Stirring occasionally, wait until completely melted. Pour a handful of broken pretzels into the mix and stir lightly, covering the pieces. Drop the clump into a muffin cup, repeat and refrigerate.
Decorate with mini eggs, foil eggs, peeps, sprinkles or caramel drizzle! Then scarf them down while you cram for exams.
